Aquarium guests are offered to participate in fish feeding.

Our visitors can feed the fish living in the touch pool of the “Sea of Japan/East Sea” Exhibit. The feeding sessions take place from 14.00 to 14.30 on Tuesday and Friday; rockfish, greenlings and flounders are fed with fresh squid.

“We want our guests not only to watch sea inhabitants but also to have more intimate contact with them, and feeding helps people to become closer to animals. Our visitors like it, and as for children, they are simply delighted with the sessions,” said Victoria Belotserkovets, Head of the Department of the Russian Far East Marine Organisms. “Anybody who wants to feed fish can do it but we kindly ask our guests to understand that if during the session there are a large number of those wishing to take part in it, first priority will be given to children”.

In the touch pool of the exhibit you can also observe the behavior of some other inhabitants of the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea: trepangs, starfish, crabs, sea urchins, cucumarias, scallops, ascidians, hermit crabs, sea anemones and mussels.
