Nine trainers, members of the Marine Mammal Division, have completed a professional retraining course at the Institute of the World Ocean, Far Eastern Federal University (IWO, FEFU) and got a certificate in Marine Biology
Some of the trainers have a secondary professional education, some of them a university degree and some are enrolled in other educational programs. The Marine Biology course that they took includes botany, zoology of invertebrates and vertebrates, anatomy, physiology and ethology of marine mammals, as well as practices and requirements of the care and maintenance of marine mammals held in public aquariums, dolphinariums and zoos.
It should be mentioned that this educational program at the FEFU became available for the Primorsky Aquarium trainers due to the agreement between the two institutions signed in April, 2023. The FEFU and the Primorsky Aquarium agreed to cooperate in education, research and innovations.
