Dolphinarium

The ocean covering the Earth formed more than four billion years ago. It became a grand stage on which the mysterious drama of life’s origin unfolded. The underwater world is amazingly diverse, and every one of us is a distant relative of ancient sea creatures!

The ocean occupies two-thirds of the Earth’s surface, and today its greater portion remains unexplored.

Many of the ocean inhabitants featured at the Primorsky Aquarium are quite common, but despite this never cease to amaze us.

Marine mammals are a unique group of species that live most or all their lives in aquatic environments. They are important players in many marine ecosystems.

The Primorsky Aquarium houses members of the orders Cetacea (cetaceans) and Carnivora: several species of the families Otariidae (the eared seals), Phocidae (the earless, or true, seals) and Odobenidae (the walrus), which are collectively referred to as pinnipeds.
