Polar World

The Polar World exhibit recreates the atmosphere of the Arctic and Antarctic, shows the uniqueness of their wildlife, narrates the role Russia has played in the exploration of high latitudes and acquaints the public with heroic deeds of Arctic pioneers.

Here visitors can watch two films: one of them shows the submersible Mir performing a dive in the Arctic Ocean, and the other tells about animals of the North Pole. The exhibit also showcases models of some polar exploration vessels – from a koch boat to Russian nuclear-powered icebreakers.
